Working on a Multiple Chat Selection Feature in WhatsApp Desktop Beta

[ad_1]

According to reports, WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will enable users to manage their chats through the desktop app. The messaging service, which is owned by Meta, is currently testing a feature that will allow users to select multiple chats at once and carry out specific actions while using the web version of the app. Only the Android and iOS apps of WhatsApp currently offer the ability to select multiple chats. With a single command, users can choose multiple chats, mark them as read or unread, archive them, or delete them.

A future update to WhatsApp for Desktop beta will reportedly include a new feature that will allow users to select multiple chats. This is according to a WABetaInfo report. According to the report, users will be able to select multiple chats at once and mute, mark all of them as read or unread, or do either of those things. It will be simple to manage the chats on WhatsApp for desktop thanks to the new update.

A screenshot of the new feature posted by WABetaInfo reveals a new drop-down menu option called “Select chats.” Notably, there is no confirmation of the release date for this feature, which is still being developed.

The instant messaging service is also developing a new function that will allow users to report any suspicious status updates made on PCs or laptops via the Desktop app. Then, any status that is purported to be against the TOS will be investigated. To prevent the spread of malicious content on the platform, WhatsApp currently only allows users to report spam or suspicious messages to the company.

The instant messaging app will become even more secure with these new reporting status update features. The reported status update will be protected by end-to-end encryption, just like messages, voice calls, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates. Future updates to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS are also anticipated to include the feature.
