Summer Game Fest 2023 Partner Lineup: PlayStation, Xbox, and More

[ad_1]

The complete list of partners anticipated to showcase their games has been made public by Summer Game Fest’s creator Geoff Keighley in advance of the annual event. There are 43 publishers and developers on the list, including major players like PlayStation, which hasn’t yet announced any specific dates or events for the summer. The publisher had previously withdrawn from the E3 2023 event, along with Xbox, which ultimately resulted in the cancellation of the video game extravaganza. The Summer Game Fest is scheduled to begin live from the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles on June 9 at 12:30 AM IST in India and June 8 at 12:00 PM PT in the US. All of the major livestreaming services, including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and TikTok, will have the event available for viewing.

As one of the partners, Xbox will host a Games Showcase on June 11 that will highlight new releases from both its own and outside studios. That will be followed by a Starfield Direct event, which will air immediately after. The long-delayed naval combat game Skull and Bones may receive updates at Ubisoft’s June 12 games showcase, which is another major publisher with a set date for its event. While Disney is working on a Black Panther and Captain America team-up game, CD Projekt Red will likely have some news regarding the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

Tickets for this year’s Summer Game Fest can be purchased from the official website (Ticketmaster is the portal). It’s important to note that the event serves merely as a venue for developers to display new games and trailers, as well as any special guests who might appear on stage. Consumers cannot participate in any demonstrations or hands-on gameplay. However, after the show, there will be a special invitation-only preview event called PlayDays for media and influencers where they can try out games.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Keighley created Summer Game Fest in response to the cancellation of all major events due to lockdown procedures. As seen in E3, the online digital-only festival allowed publishers, both AAA and indie, to showcase their games without having to fork over a significant sum for a physical booth. It used to be a four-month festival, which the majority of players didn’t like because there would often be long stretches between announcements.

In the US, Summer Game Fest begins June 8 at 12 p.m. PT/June 9 at 12:30 IST.
